Also known as The Potbelly air plant, Tillandsia paucifolia is a large-sized single or clustering species native to parts of Central America, central and southern Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, the West Indies, and Florida:
- Foliage: 5-10 leaves which are recurved to twisted, silvery-grey, and form a small pseudobulb
- Inflorescence: Single or digitized, primary bracts are reddish-green, floral bracts are green, and flowers are tubular and purple to a pale color.

- Ideally, this plant should be mounted on a surface that does not retain water
- Size: Mature specimens typically reach 20-30cm (8"-12") in height with a width of 2.5-7.5cm (1"-3")
