Also known as The Potbelly air plant, Tillandsia paucifolia is a large-sized single or clustering species native to parts of Central America, central and southern Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, the West Indies, and Florida:

  • Foliage: 5-10 leaves which are recurved to twisted, silvery-grey, and form a small pseudobulb 
  • Inflorescence: Single or digitized, primary bracts are reddish-green, floral bracts are green, and flowers are tubular and purple to a pale color.

  • Ideally, this plant should be mounted on a surface that does not retain water
  • Size: Mature specimens typically reach 20-30cm (8"-12") in height with a width of 2.5-7.5cm (1"-3")

Care tip: Prefers bright, indirect light up to direct morning sun. Mist or dunk 1-3 times per week (more in hot/dry conditions). Ensure leaves dry within a few hours; provide excellent air circulation and warm to intermediate temperatures.
