Tillandsia retorta

Tillandsia retorta is a distinctive air plant from Argentina known for its dense, tangled appearance:

• Foliage: Silvery-green leaves grow distichously and are thin, terete, and twisted. 
  
• Inflorescence: Produces small, tubular yellow flowers on a flower stalk 7-15cm (3"-6") tall
  

Key features:

• Native to Northern Argentina where it grows on trees at an elevation of 600-1000m
  
• It stays small forming dense, globular clumps
  
• Size: Mature plant bodies typically reach only 4-6cm (~2") in diameter
  

Care tip: Prefers bright, indirect light with some direct morning sun. Mist 2-4 times per week (more in hot/dry conditions) and soak once monthly. Ensure leaves dry within a few hours; provide excellent air circulation and warm to intermediate temperatures.
