Not every plant mount needs to be a surprise. This one is a known quantity: a mini Neoregelia, mounted with soil and moss onto a solid cedar plank measuring 12 inches high by 5.5 inches wide. Same size every time. Same clean rectangle. Same ready-to-display format.

That consistency is the appeal. Because every mount shares the same footprint, you can plan around them—line three along a shelf, arrange a vertical row on a wall, or work one into a display where an irregular piece of driftwood wouldn't fit. It's the difference between a found object and a designed one.

The cedar brings its own advantages. It's naturally aromatic, which makes the piece pleasant to keep indoors. It's also naturally rot-resistant—a genuine benefit for something that gets watered regularly, since cedar resists the decay that would eventually affect softer woods. Fresh cedar runs warm reddish-brown and will gradually weather to a soft silver-grey over time, developing a patina rather than deteriorating.

The plant is a mini Neoregelia—a compact tank bromeliad known for colorful foliage and for blushing dramatically at the center when it comes into bloom. Mounted with soil and moss at the base, it has what it needs to establish on the wood rather than in a pot.

Two ways to buy:

· Grower's Choice — $24.95. Our grower selects the mini Neoregelia to pair with your cedar plank, choosing for color and balance. Ready to ship. This is the option for anyone who likes a curated surprise or wants the most straightforward purchase.
· Customer-Selected — $29.95. You choose the exact plant. We'll show you what's available, you pick, and we mount it to order. This is the option for collectors after a specific cultivar or color.

What you're getting:

· Base: Solid cedar wood plank
· Dimensions: 12 inches high × 5.5 inches wide
· Plant: One mini Neoregelia, mounted with soil and moss
· Orientation: Portrait (tall rectangle)—displays well upright on a shelf or hung on a wall
· Options: Grower's Choice (29.95)
· Consistency: Every mount is the same size, making them easy to arrange in groups

Good to Know:

· The cedar is consistent, the plant is not. Every plank is 12 × 5.5 inches, but the mini Neoregelia mounted to it will vary in cultivar and color depending on availability. Grower's Choice means we pick; Customer-Selected means you do.
· Expect natural wood variation. Cedar grain, tone, and any knots will differ from piece to piece. The size is standard; the wood is still a natural material.
· Soil and moss are part of the mount. This is not a bare-root mount. The base holds soil and moss to support establishment, which means it retains moisture—and needs more careful watering as a result.
· The mother plant will eventually pup. Like all bromeliads, a Neoregelia blooms once, then produces offsets ("pups") before the original rosette declines. Pups can be left to cluster on the wood or removed and mounted separately.
· Cedar will patina over time. Fresh wood is warm reddish-brown; with age and watering it fades toward silver-grey. This is normal and generally considered an improvement.

Caring for Your Mount:

Bright, filtered light. Mini Neoregelias color up best in good light—a bright windowsill or a spot with dappled sun. Avoid harsh, direct midday sun, which can scorch the leaves. Keep the central "cup" of the rosette filled with fresh water and refresh it weekly to prevent stagnation. Rainwater or distilled water is best if your tap water is hard. Keep the soil-and-moss base moist but never soggy. This is the key difference from a potted bromeliad—there's no drainage hole to rely on. Water the base lightly and let it dry somewhat between waterings. If the moss stays wet for days, you're overdoing it.
