Scindapsus treubii ‘Moonlight’

The Scindapsus treubii 'Moonlight', a more rare vining plant that is a true collector's treasure. Native to the tropical rainforests of Malaysia, Indonesia, Borneo, and Java, this slow-growing species is a member of the Araceae (arum) family and is often compared to—but stands apart from—the more common Scindapsus pictus.

What sets 'Moonlight' apart is its beautiful foliage. Each thick, heart-shaped leaf is a solid, milky silver-green with a satin-like, matte finish and a subtle metallic sheen, creating a calm glow that brightens any space. New leaves emerge a soft, olive-green before maturing into their signature silver. Its refined silhouette and compact growth habit make it ideal for small spaces, while its trailing nature shines in hanging baskets or trained up a moss pole.

Despite its rare and exotic appearance 'Moonlight' Scindapsus is remarkably easy to care for. It copes well with a missed watering and average light, making it an excellent choice for beginners.

Care Instructions: Provide bright, indirect light to maintain its silvery glow and vibrant coloration. An east- or west-facing window is ideal. It will tolerate medium light, though the leaves may appear darker and growth will slow slightly. Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry between waterings, or let the soil dry before watering thoroughly. Good drainage is essential—avoid letting the roots sit in water to prevent rot.
