Tillandsia araujei Purple forms dense, spiky rosettes of narrow, silvery-green leaves that can blush purple under bright light or during blooming. Native to Brazil, this species is known for being hardy and clump-forming, producing chains of offsets that eventually create striking hanging clusters.
When in bloom, it sends up a short inflorescence with delicate white or pale pink tubular flowers, adding a lovely contrast to the plant’s cool-toned foliage.
Care notes:
Light: Bright, indirect light; can handle some morning or late-afternoon sun.
Water: Soak or mist thoroughly 1-2 times per week, allowing it to dry fully between waterings.
Airflow: Needs good air circulation to prevent rot.
Temperature: Prefers 65–85°F (18–29°C).
