Native to subtropical regions of South America, specifically Paraguay and northern Argentina, Tillandsia diaguitensis is an air plant known for its hardiness and fragrant flowers. It is often call the Diaguita Air Plant:
- Foliage: Leaves are slender, grey-green, and densely covered in fine, hair-like scales, giving them a fuzzy appearance
- Inflorescence: A simple, lance-shaped flower spike with vibrant roseate (pinkish) floral bracts with white to bluish-white flowers
