Tillandsia diaguitensis

Native to subtropical regions of South America, specifically Paraguay and northern Argentina, Tillandsia diaguitensis is an air plant known for its hardiness and fragrant flowers. It is often call the Diaguita Air Plant:

• Foliage: Leaves are slender, grey-green, and densely covered in fine, hair-like scales, giving them a fuzzy appearance
  
• Inflorescence: A simple, lance-shaped flower spike with vibrant roseate (pinkish) floral bracts with white to bluish-white flowers
  
• Fragrance: This species is highly valued for its strong, pleasant fragrance during bloom consistently described as sweet, floral, and reminiscent of cloves or honeysuckle
  

Key features:

• It is often described as "near indestructible" due to its ability to survive long periods of drought and harsh conditions
  
• Growth Pattern: It is a caulescent (stem-growing) species that produces an elongate stem reaching up to 60cm (about 2 feet) in length
  
• Size: Typically grows taller than it is wide reaching around 6" in width with some "forms" growing slightly larger 

Care tip: This plant is considered tough and forgiving provided it receives very bright light, dries out completely between waterings, is provided with good airflow, and must be protected from frost
