Tillandsia 'Senora Edie Stricta'. This new hybrid brings together two exceptional parent species: the stunning Tillandsia edithae, with its beautiful coral-red blooms and silvery-green foliage, and the robust Tillandsia stricta, known for its vibrant pinkish-red bracts and prolific blooming habits.
The result is a plant of beauty. 'Senora Edie Stricta' forms a very leafy, full rosette of many fairly stiff, dark silvery-gray leaves covered in a moderate layer of trichomes. This dense, architectural form makes it a striking specimen even when not in bloom.
When it flowers, the plant produces a spectacular, brilliant red cylindrical inflorescence that rises above the foliage, contrasting beautifully with the dark silvery leaves. From this red spike emerge clusters of dark purple flowers.
