Tillandsia 'Space Cadet' (T. retrorsa x T. duratii)

Tillandsia 'Space Cadet' - a Rainforest Flora air plant creation combining Tillandsia retrorsa with Tillandsia duratii:

• Foliage: Forms a spreading, caulescent rosette. Leaves are light green, curling, and covered in trichomes. 
  
• Inflorescence: Erect stem to 40" branching into small spikes bearing large, purple-petaled flowers with white centers. Fragrance is strong and sweet, but not overpowering.

Key features:

• First registered in 2025, but created in 2015.
  
• Combines the best of both parents from foliage to fragrant flowers
  
• Growth Pattern: Exhibits a caulescent growth pattern, meaning it grows along a stem.
  
• Size: Mature specimens typically reach 50cm (20").

Care tip: Thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. Requires regular misting or soaking (up to 30 minutes once a week), ensuring it can dry completely afterwards.
