Vriesea ‘Splenriet’ (Vriesea splendens hybrid)

The plant forms an orderly, vase-shaped rosette of stout, strappy leaves. The foliage is boldly banded with a striking pattern of green and rich chocolate, sometimes with purple undertones. This zebra-like striping creates a powerful visual impact even when the plant is not in bloom.

The real showstopper, however, is its magnificent inflorescence. ‘Splenriet’ produces a fiery red, sword-shaped flower spike that can be branched, rising majestically above the foliage and lasting up to 12 weeks or more.
